Bareboat Rentals
If you’re looking to be captain of your own ship, for a completely customized watersport experience, rent your own boat!
Renting your own boat provides you the opportunity to explore the surrounding cays and settlements such as New Plymouth. Set off on your own adventure and explore our neighboring deserted cays and secret coves which were used by 17th century pirates, Civil War blockade runners and the smugglers of Prohibition. Discover beautiful unpopulated white sand beaches and tropical gin-clear waters abundant with colorful reefs and fish. Purchase a picnic lunch from The Green Turtle Club to take with you and enjoy a picnic lunch on a stretch of beach you can call your own.
Boat rental companies on Green Turtle Cay offer boats ranging in size from a 14 foot runabout to 26 foot center console boats. Rates range from $65/day upwards, depending on boat size and equipment. Most companies offer discounts on multiple day or weekly rentals. Most of the rental companies located on nearby cays will arrange pick up or delivery service to The Green Turtle Club dock.

Golf
Located a short ferry ride across the Sea of Abaco is Treasure Cay Golf Club, designed by the legendary Dick Wilson. At 6,985 yards from the blue tees with 66 strategically placed sand bunkers, this golf course offers a challenge to the avid golfer with ocean winds and tight fairways.

Golf Cart Rentals
ce with classic dishes and a knowledge of regional recipes that appeal to all palates. In the evenings the tables are draped with linens so guests may dine by candlelight on the patio and enjoy views of White Sound Harbor under the moon. For a more formal experience, the Club has a warm and elegant candlelit dining room as well.
Most golf carts carry up to four passengers and are equipped for night time travel. Any licensed driver over the age of 18 can drive the cart on Green Turtle Cay. Just remember… we drive on the left side of the road in the Bahamas!
White Sound Beach
White Sound Beach is just steps away from your door at The Green Turtle Club. Relax under the sun or take comfort in the shade under one of the thatched umbrellas. White Sound Beach is a beautiful location for weddings and special events and also home to “Sandy Toes Saturday” – the Club’s Bahamian dinner buffet event served in the sand on White Sound.
Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach is a ten minute walk from The Green Turtle Club; or is easily accessible by golf cart. This long strip of white, sandy beach is often referred to as “North Pointe Beach” and “Middle Beach”, and is heaven under the sun. Ocean Beach is great for snorkeling as a beautiful stretch of barrier reef lies just off shore.
Coco Bay Beach
Coco Bay Beach is located a short distance behind the pool rooms at The Green Turtle Club. The beach has a great location and can be reached by walking from The Club, or by golf cart. This little white sand beach is protected on windy days. Its quiet waters are shallow enough to wade out, or sit in and sun while the rippling water keeps you cool. This beach is popular for small children due to its calm, shallow waters.
Bita Bay Beach
A quick golf cart ride from The Club, Bita Bay Beach is a piece of paradise. This peaceful beach is protected from northern and western winds. The clear water is perfect for wading, swimming, and for novice snorkelers. Two small reefs make the waters here fun and easy, especially at low tide. Bita Bay Beach runs south almost one mile to Long Bay.
Island Hopping
For the ultimate day of adventure, island hop around the nearby cays and stop on a secluded beach cove or a Bahamian beach BBQ. Green Turtle native Tom Sawyer will escort you and your crew around on his 31 ft. customized inboard boat. On Sundays, he’s known for shuttling Club guests down to Guana Cay to experience the weekly pig roast and pool party, something no visitor to the Abacos should miss!
Lincoln Jones is an undisputed Abaconian legend, known world-wide for thrilling all with his catch and cook BBQ beach adventure. Spend a day of adventure at “Lincoln Park” on deserted Munjack Cay. You can snorkel and fish, and catch or spear your own lunch. Or just kick back and watch Lincoln and his son, Marcus, in action diving and spearing lobster and local fish. After swimming, snorkeling and fishing, get ready for a party on the beach. Lincoln will prepare all of the fresh catch for your lunch while you enjoy the rum punch! Who needs Indiana Jones, when you have Lincoln Jones to save the day!
Sightseeing
The Abaocos are post card perfect. The Town of New Plymouth is a quiet, 18th century village by the sea, offering a variety of galleries, restaurants, shops, and museums. A Loyalist Memorial Statue Garden was erected in the heart of New Plymouth in memory of the founders of Green Turtle Cay and is open to the public.
The Albert Lowe Museum displays the fascinating history of New Plymouth with photographs and antique artifacts dating back to the turn of the century as well as ship models of the Abaco sailing vessels, some of which were used as blockade runners during the Civil War. No visit to Green Turtle Cay is complete without a stop at Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar, the birth place of the famous Goombay Smash… a delicious rum punch now found throughout the Caribbean! Be sure to pass by Ye Olde Jail while you are in town… a great photo opportunity!
And speaking of photo opportunities, the most colorful and popular attraction in the Abacos is the candy-striped Hope Town Lighthouse on nearby Elbow Cay. The lighthouse stands at 89 feet, with 101 steps, and is one of only two remaining beacons in the Bahamas saved from automation. Extraordinary efforts are undertaken by the locals to secure the parts for the kerosene-burning apparatus of the light, most of which are no longer manufactured. Visitors are free to visit the lighthouse and drink in an amazing panoramic view.
Birding
With over 65 species of birds in The Abacos, it truly is a bird-watcher’s paradise and one of the few places in The Bahamas where you can find the green Abaco or “Bahama” Parrot, mainly in South Abaco near Hole-In-The-Wall. Other birds you’ll encounter are the Bahama Yellow-Throat, Cuban Emerald Woodpecker, Red-Legged Thrush, Olive-Capped Warbler and Flamingos.
