World Class Fishing

Lake Kissimmee is world famous for its largemouth bass fishing

Lake Kissimmee. Fifteen miles long, almost seven miles wide with a surface area of some 55 square miles – it’s a fresh water fishery full of largemouth bass, bluegill and black crappie. As the most remote of Florida’s ten largest acclaimed bass waters with a shoreline of expansive aquatic grasses and vegetation, it’s a lake that holds plenty of wall-hanger sized largemouth bass, making Lake Kissimmee is a bucket list bass fishing destination. Little wonder the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes is a regular stop on the Bassmaster and Florida Bass Federation tournament schedules. Whether you flip plastic baits or slow-troll golden shiners for spawning bass during the winter and spring, or rattle and jerk artificials in open-water during summer and fall, a trophy fish isn’t far from your stringer.

And when you throw a 10-incher back as being “tiny”, you’ll know the excitement that comes from stalking the hydrilla beds with your ultralight for crappie, also known as speckled perch. Called the Speckled Perch Capital of the world for a reason, Florida and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes serves up the action with a generous daily bag limit of 25 fish. This is great sportfishing for anglers of all ages, and their families, who want to spend more time catchin’ than fishin’!

To help you get off the dock quickly and onto the water ready for professional grade fishing, our fishing lodge is located on a secluded section of the Kissimmee River, with immediate access to Lake Kissimmee and the entire chain of lakes. Marina services include boat rentals, half and full day fishing charters with our Camp Mack Pro Team fishing guides, and for those bringing along their watercraft, a four-slot boat ramp and slip rentals for overnight and extended stay visits. Be sure to visit our the Bait House to stock the baitwell and the Outfitter Store for any light tackle or other provisioning needs, and yes, a Florida fishing license if you need it!

OUR PRO CAPTAIN

CAPTAIN SCOTT TAYLOR

Capt. Scott Taylor is the Captain of the Guy Harvey Camp Mack Pro Team. He specializes in fishing for Central Florida trophy largemouth bass with artificial baits, and the boat is loaded with a wide array of soft plastics (including worms, flukes, craws, and swim baits), top water walking baits and frogs, jigs, punch baits for heavy mats & grass, and jerk baits. He will also help guests who wish to fish with live shiners. His most popular trips focus on fishing with artificial baits while occasionally using shiners to entice and fire-up a few gigantic fish.

Your fishing trip takes place on his fully equipped, fully loaded, spacious and stable 2017 SeaFox 220 Viper bay boat powered by a Yamaha 250HP SHO Four Stroke engine and Minn Kota Riptide Ulterra iPilot wireless remote trolling motor. All equipment onboard is tournament-grade with Grandt & Penn rods, Pflueger and Penn reels.

Captain Scott Taylor is a “Catch & Release” bass fishing guide service. If a guest catches a trophy-sized fish they want to keep for a wall mount, all measurements and photos will be taken so a replica can be made. He takes great care to preserve our resources so that future generations can share what we enjoy. Charters are for 1-3 persons.

PLAY BY THE RULES

We at Camp Mack take fishing regulations seriously. We are committed to conservation and hope you are as well when visiting Lake Kissimmee. It is important to respect the local fishing regulations. At best, it’s good sportsmanship. At worst being unfamiliar is a prescription for fines and penalties. We ask all our anglers to be good sportsmen and conservationists and respect the regulations.

FISHING LICENSE

In the state of Florida, children 16 and under and resident seniors who are 65 or older are not required to purchase freshwater recreational license. Officers may ask exempt children and seniors for proof of age. Seniors should also be prepared to show proof of residency. If you are spending time fishing on lake Kissimmee make sure you stop by the Outfitter Sore to pick up your license or click here.

BAG LIMITS

For the most current information from the Florida Wildlife Commission, click here for a link to the regulations. We all must do our small part in protecting the fisheries for both our lil guys and future generations to come. Now let’s go fishin’!

SUPPORT TROPHY CATCH

Camp Mack, a Guy Harvey Lodge, Marina & RV Resort is a proud supporter of Trophy Catch, which is Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s freshwater, citizen-science, angler recognition program to support Florida’s bass conservation. Anglers are rewarded for registering their trophy catches and releasing them for a chance to win prizes including a new boat! The program is a response of FWC’s Black Bass Management Plan, which placed an emphasis on establishing trophy bass fishing opportunities throughout the state. Its goal is to collect data on trophy bass while promoting bass conservation by rewarding catch-and-release fishing. To register for Trophy Catch click here.
