Highlights
  • Rest
14 stylish oceanfront guestrooms and suites, designed and constructed to luxury North American hotel standards, offering full amenities and comforts.
  • Dine
Casual dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner, open daily. Off-property, a short stroll into town, you’ll find a small collection of restaurants and beach bars.
  • Relax
Stretch out on an deserted beach that runs to the horizon, reconnoiter the horizon from a rooftop Jacuzzi and suntan deck, perch yourself just above the dune line on the pool deck and watch an occasional iguana make its way across the sand packed street out front, after dinner, retire to the game room for billiards or a smashing game of ping-pong. It’s hard work relaxing at the Iguana Crossing!
  • Play
Surf, dive, snorkel, bike, hike, birdwatch, whalewatch. Just about every minute of your visit can be committed to enjoying the crystal clear waters, white powder sand beaches and the unique landscape of Isabela.
  • Fish
Offshore big-game fishing for blue marlin, tuna, and more. No fancy battlewagons here in Galapagos; just a fleet of outboard fishing skiffs with supremely skilled local captains who forefathers have fished these waters for as long as the sport has existed.
  • Dive
Snorkeling to some of the most memorable Galapagos dive sites authorized for visitation by the National Park. Penguins, Marine iguanas, sea lions, sharks, manta rays, the list goes on and on. There’s something for everyone to enjoy! For the scuba diver, the hotel can arrange custom dive experiences.
  • Discover
Like Darwin before you, simply coming to the Galapagos is a voyage of discovery! All life in the Galapagos is a study in sustainability. Enjoy a selection of half and full day tours to explore this astounding island, and be sure to visit the Tortoise breeding center where you’ll see these magnificent animals up close and learn of their survival challenges.
Location

0° South 57′, 90° West 58′, approximately 2,000 miles southwest of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and 50 miles west southwest of Porto Aroyo on Isla Santa Cruz. Isabela is the westernmost island in the archipelago, approximately 100 miles from San Cristobal, the easternmost island. Casa Iguana is located in Puerto Villamil, on the lower southeast coast of the island.

Access

The settlement of Puerto Villamil is served by the two Galapagos intra-island air carriers that connect Isabela with daily service to Santa Cruz and San Cristobal, SA Areo and Emetebe Airlines. SA Areo serves the islands with a 30 seat Saab, that links San Cristobal, Baltra and Isabela with one flight daily. Emetebe flies a smaller “Island Hopper” with more frequent, but often less reliable, service among the islands.

The more common mode of transportation is provided by high speed water taxis, which are 40 ft (12.5 meter) twin outboard speedboats, or “fibra” as they’re called locally with semi-enclosed seating areas.

Getting to or from Isabela by boat is a wonderful two hour experience riding over the turquoise waters teeming with marine life and coastal birds diving on schools of bait fish. By all means, consider one leg by air and the other by water to experience Isabela at its fullest.
