Debbie Hanson is a USCG licensed freshwater fishing guide, outdoor writer, and former radio personality from Estero, Florida. Her articles have appeared in publications such as Salt Water Sportsman Magazine, Florida Sportsman Magazine, and Florida Game & Fish Magazine. She is also a contract blogger for the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing brand. When not guiding or writing, Hanson lends support to anglers of all ages through her involvement on the Board of Directors for Fish Florida, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which supports teaching people, especially children, about Florida’s fish and aquatic habitats through donations of fishing equipment, grants, and scholarships

A: In freshwater, the answer is peacock bass. Saltwater, the answer is juvenile tarpon.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world to fish, where would you go and why?

A: Argentina for golden dorado on fly.

Q: What is your favorite activity when you are not fishing?

A: Reading, I’m a total nonfiction bookworm.

Q: If you only had one fly or lure to catch a fish, what would it be?

A: Clouser Deep Minnow

Q: If you could take anyone in the world on a charter, who would it be?

A: Singer/Songwriter Pink (who once said in an interview for People Magazine, “I don’t like labels at all so I believe that a woman and a girl can do anything.”)
