Guy Harvey Outpost, Walkers Cay, the Duchess Fishing Team and Friends of Bahamas Big Game Sport Fishing saluted our friend and Outpost Pro Team guide, Captain Billy Black, for a lifetime of Sportsmanship and Big Game Angling on March 11, 2023.
Over $25,000 of proceeds for the event were raised to benefit both Wounded Veterans Fund and Grunts With Halos.

Husband. Father. Grandfather. Hunter and Sportfishing Captain. Warfighter and Patriot. But above all, one helluva guy.
Among warriors it is said, the only easy day was yesterday. For Captain Billy Black, whether at the helm of Duchess or on the dock at Walkers Cay, each and every day hunting the unseen, he leaves it all on the water. Offshore, there are no winners, only survivors.
This day we celebrate a warrior, a Big Game Sportfishing Captain whose perseverance inspires and exploits challenge.
For all of us who call you a friend, thank you Captain Billy Black.

Questions for Pro Billy Black
Q: What is your favorite fish to catch and why?
A: Blue marlin because they jump all over the ocean and they are so much fun to catch.
Q: What is your favorite local place to eat?
A: Flanigan’s in Stuart. They have a lot of good stuft like swordfish, fresh tuna and dolphin.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world to fish (and money were no object), where would you go and what would you fish for?
A: Cairns, Australia for black marlin. They catch a lot of really big ones there.
Q: When you aren’t fishing, what is your favorite activity?
A: I would say hunting deer, turkey, alligator and wild hog. I don’t kill anything I don’t eat.
Q: If you only had one lure and you had to catch a fish, what would it be and why?
A: It would be my Billy Black Series ‘Big Mama’ called the Bleeding Dolphin’. I’ve caught a lot of big blue marlin on it.
Q: Who would you most like to take out on a fishing charter?
A: President Trump. That would be a hoot.
