While Noel Kuhn loves all types of fishing, surf fishing has been his passion for 46 years. He is a founding member, past President and on the Board of Directors of the Florida Surfcasters Club, winning club as well as public tournaments. He speaks at fishing clubs to spark the passion in new surf anglers. He runs a surf fishing guide service from Fernandina south to Daytona. He loves putting his clients in position to slide fish onto the sand as well as teaching conservation, sportsmanship and stewardship of the beach environment.
He also teaches long distance casting and builds high quality sand spikes. Noel said “The look on a student’s face when they first crack 300, 400, or 500 foot casts is priceless!”
Noel’s description of a perfect day of surf fishing is, “Toes in the sand 30 minutes before sunrise. 10-mph southeast breeze in your face, three-foot curls breaking in clean water. Sliding some fat Pompano on to the sand. Next, a drag screaming six-foot Blacktip going airborn. Then grabbing lunch with fellow surfcasters!”
Noel teaches monthly the Guy Harvey Resort St Augustine Beach – Surf Fishing Academy
